Hi Everyone! After long plane rides and several delays I've made it to the Czech Republic, more specifically, Prague. Although I was extremely tired when I arrived, I thought I better get out and do some sightseeing. Due to my exhaustion, I probably didn't go about this in the most sensible way. Instead, I got lost in the city's beauty (literally, I was lost) and tried to absorb as much as I could. Since I spent my day just walking around I wasn't able to make it to the river or castle, but I'll just save that for next time. Here are some pictures from the day's adventure!
The Powder Tower sits directly to the left outside of my hotel. It was once a gate into Prague.
This is the National Museum in Prague. It's a beautiful building that I kept running into, but didn't realize what it was until I got back to the hotel and looked it up.
This is just a random panoramic shot that I took of one of the squares in Prague. It was filled with restaurants and shops. There is no traffic that goes through this area; it is open strictly to foot traffic. You might not be able to tell in this picture, but the sidewalks throughout Prague are all stone, very pretty.
The two pictures above are of the Old Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock. This was absolutely amazing! The design was so intricate and every hour on the hour there was a performance at the top of the tower. As you can see, the clock tells several different versions of time and one of the layers (not sure which one) will supposedly tell you what time sunrise/sunset will be at for the day.
These are pictures of the St. Nicholas Church in Old Town Square. Everything in the church was so beautiful, but the chandelier in the center was really the icing on the cake.
Alright guys, I think that's all for now. I have more pictures and will post a link for where you can find them soon. But I hope this will tide everyone over for now.
Also, if you could please pray for me and upcoming decisions I have to make regarding schools I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
WOW! Looks like there will be much to explore.
ReplyDeleteAmanda, I am constantly praying for you!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda ....
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! The pictures were beautiful - I can only imagine how much better they are in person. Remember to make a wish whenever you enter a church for the first time. Prayers for you are coming from us too. Looking forward to all your updates.
May God Bless,
